I ask for half of the payment when I take on the project to cover the costs of the batting, backing fabric, photo transfer fabric, and thread. The remaining half is to be paid at completion of the project.
Wall Hanging 3' x 3' = $75
Lap Size 4' x 5' = $125
Twin Size 5.5' x 7' = $175
Full Size 7' x 8' = $250
Queen Size 8' x 9' = $300
Art Quilts are priced individually and begin at $150.
MEMORY QUILTS:
The person commissioning the quilt provides at least 5 and preferably more shirts or other pieces of clothing that I am free to cut apart and incorporate into the quilt. If there aren't 5 pieces of clothing available then I can still work it out but I will have to use more fabric that isn't specific to the person or event being memorialized.
I provide the batting and the backing fabric and I decide based on the quilt itself whether it should be hand tied, machine quilted, or hand quilted.
I can put photo transfers into the quilt if desired. I charge $5 per photo. The person provides me with the photos to scan or they send me by email the full sized photos.
The finished quilt will have a printed fabric label attached to the back of the quilt telling who the quilt memorializes, dates, special notes etc... and will identify me as the quilt maker.
QUILT REPAIR PROJECTS:
I will have to see either in person or by detailed photos what condition the quilt is in before I will agree to take on the project. That being said, I haven't turned a project down yet! Please keep in mind that I am NOT a quilt "Restorer." I REPAIR quilts so that they can be displayed, used, and loved.
The starting rate for Repair Projects is $100.
QUILT FINISHING PROJECTS:
I will finish unfinished quilt tops by adding backing and batting and quilting or tacking the quilt together and binding it. Pricing is based on size of the quilt and whether the quilt is machine quilted, hand quilted, or hand tied.
