This is a strip or string pieced quilt I made during a very difficult and stressful time. The only thing that kept me feeling grounded was sewing the colorful strips of fabric onto the paper foundations. I made dozens of them and when I began piecing them together I thought, "That looks like the old fashioned Crazy Quilts." And then I realized, "No! This is my SANITY QUILT!" Thus the quilt's title - and my continued use of quilting to keep myself grounded and sane through good times and not so good times.

Becky, I'm having trouble figuring out how to ask you about this wall hanging. We are avid bird watchers and have a new beach house with a space for about a 3 foot by 3 foot hanging. This heron hanging would be perfect! Is it possible for me to buy one from you?
